The course consists of an extensive study of the six-thousand plus hadith texts. The course provides a thorough and critical analysis of the theological, legal, and ethical rules derived from its narrations as well as their historical authenticity. Through the study of a work that collects hadith of not only the six Ṣaḥīh sitta but other narrators as well. The students are given a thorough exposure to the Islamic understanding found in hadith literature.
